Textbook: Howard Anton and Chris Rorres, Elementary Linear Algebra with Applications, John Wiley and Sons, 10th Edition, 2011
Prerequisite:
There are no prerequisites for this course other than a course in calculus and a desire to learn, a willingness to work hard, and the commitment to think independently.
Course Objectives:
- To understand basic operations with vectors and matrices,
- To understand the concept of a vector space, both algebraically and abstractly,
- To be able to formulate a variety of problems in terms of finding the solution to a system of linear equations and to be able to efficiently find the solution.
Course Requirements:
Weekly Homework Assignments.
Midterm Exam plus a Final Exam.
Lecture Schedule:
The lecture schedule may not necessarily follow the textbook. References to the relevant material will be given in lectures and the problem sets.
